About Our 2x3 Non-Slip Rugs

Do I need to buy a rug pad for these?

No! That is the best part. These rugs come with a rubber or latex backing already applied to the bottom, so they grip the floor right out of the package. You save money and hassle.

Are these safe for hardwood floors?

Generally, yes. However, if you have freshly refinished floors or very old vintage varnish, you should check the manufacturer's care instructions. Some rubber backings can trap moisture or react with certain floor finishes over long periods. Moving the rug occasionally helps prevent this.

Can I wash rubber-backed rugs?

Many of them, yes. However, the most important rule is do not use heat to dry them. High heat in a dryer will cause the rubber backing to crumble and flake off. Always air dry.

Are they thick or thin?

Non-slip rugs are usually on the thinner side (low pile). This keeps them lightweight and reduces the tripping hazard, which is the whole point of a safety rug!

Do they work on carpet?

Not really. The rubber backing is designed to grip hard surfaces like wood, tile, or laminate. On carpet, a rubber-backed rug might still "creep" or bunch up. You would need a specific "rug-on-carpet" pad for that application.
