2x6 Runner Rugs

A 2x6 runner rug is the shortest standard runner. It fits short hallways, the space in front of a kitchen counter, a bathroom vanity or a narrow entryway. This collection includes two kinds of runners: machine washable runners in set sizes, and handmade one-of-a-kind vintage runners in their own measured sizes.

Washable or Vintage?

  • Washable runners are printed, newly made and go in the washing machine. A practical choice for kitchens and busy entryways. See all washable runners.
  • Vintage runners are handmade Turkish pieces, one of each, with irregular measured sizes. See all vintage runner rugs.

Choosing the Right Runner Length

Leave about 6 to 12 inches of bare floor at each end of the runner. For longer spaces, see 2x8, 2x10 and 2x12 runners, or browse all runner rugs.

What size is a 2x6 runner rug?

About 2 ft wide and 6 ft long. Washable runners come in set sizes close to this, and vintage runners are listed with their exact measured size.
Where does a 2x6 runner fit best?

Short hallways, in front of a kitchen counter or sink, beside a bathroom vanity or in a narrow entryway.
What is the difference between washable and vintage runners?

Washable runners are printed, newly made and machine washable. Vintage runners are handmade Turkish pieces, one of each, with irregular measured sizes.
How much floor should show around a runner?

Leave about 6 to 12 inches of bare floor at each end and a few inches on each side so the runner looks centered.
Do runner rugs need a rug pad?

We recommend one, especially on hard floors in hallways and kitchens. A pad keeps the runner from sliding and the corners flat.
