5x8 Wool Rugs, Handmade in Anatolia

A 5x8 wool rug is the most flexible size for bedrooms, home offices and smaller living rooms. Every rug here is a handmade vintage wool piece from Anatolia, Turkey, measured individually; sizes run roughly 4 ft 7 in to 6 ft wide and 7 ft 5 in to 9 ft long.

Where a 5x8 Works

  • Under a desk and chair in a home office.
  • At the foot of a full or queen bed, or under a twin bed.
  • In a smaller living room with the front legs of the sofa on the rug.

What are the exact sizes in this collection?

Roughly 4 ft 7 in to 6 ft wide and 7 ft 5 in to 9 ft long. Each rug's exact size is listed in feet and centimeters.
Is a 5x8 big enough for a living room?

In a smaller living room, yes, if the front legs of the sofa rest on the rug. Larger rooms usually need an 8x10 or 9x12.
Are these rugs 100% wool?

The pile is wool. Most have a cotton foundation and some a wool foundation; the product page lists the exact materials.
Are they handmade?

Yes. Every rug is a vintage handmade piece from Anatolia, hand-knotted or flat-woven, and there is only one of each.
Do I need a rug pad?

We recommend one. It keeps the rug flat and in place and helps it wear evenly.
